Dr. G. Philip Sayegh
Dr. Sayegh is the founder of Gastroenterology of Hudson Valley.
He grew up in the Westchester area and graduated from Stony Brook University where he majored in both biology and philosophy. He received his Osteopathic Medical Degree from New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine.
Having a passion for healthcare administration and community health, Dr. Sayegh pursued and received a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the esteemed Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University.
Dr. Sayegh was a founding member of the Internal Medicine residency at Orange Regional Medical Center (now Garnett Health) in Middletown, New York. He served as the first chief resident and was awarded resident of the year by his colleagues and mentors.
Upon completing his internal medicine residency, Dr. Sayegh obtained his fellowship in gastroenterology from the prestigious Hackensack University Medical Center. He was elected to serve as chief fellow during his final year of training.
As he came to understand the profound impact that obesity has on a multitude of body systems, Dr. Sayegh also pursued a second fellowship in obesity medicine.
Dr. Sayegh is currently board-certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology and is board-eligible in Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Sayegh’s expertise lies in the management of the multitude of diseases involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, pancreas and liver as well as nutrition and obesity medicine.
